Phase 2 of this project will extend the Silver Line 11.4 miles west from the Wiehle-Reston East Station, through Washington Dulles International Airport and into Loudoun County, VA. Capital Rail Constructors will design and construct six stations and the supporting infrastructure necessary to power to the system. Five of the new stations — Herndon and Innovation Center to the east of Dulles Airport, and the Route 606, and Route 772 Ashburn stations to the west — will be built on ground level. At Dulles Airport, the team will construct an aerial station adjacent to Parking Garage 1. The station will be connected to the Main Terminal by an underground pedestrian walkway equipped with moving sidewalks.

C3M personnel are a part of the Capital Rail Constructors team building the project. In addition, C3M self-performed traction power, automatic train control, and communication system duct bank installation for multiple traction power substation, tie-breaker station, train control room, COM room, and wayside locations as well as grounding of the aerial guideway between the mainline and the yard.

In addition to the work performed by C3M on Phase 2, C3M personnel played a critical role on Phase 1 of the Silver Line. Phase 1 extended 11.6-miles from East Falls Church with four stations in Tysons Corner and a terminal station in Reston. C3M personnel designed, furnished, installed, tested, and documented all communications systems including LAN/WAN, VoIP telephone, public address, integrated intercom, passenger information display systems, fire alarm, kiosk systems, SCADA, CCTV, and intrusion detection. The work included tie-ins to the active WMATA Metro system at multiple locations including East Falls Church Station and West Falls Church Yard.

Upon completion of Phase 1, C3M has provided on-call warranty and maintenance services to Dulles Transit Partners, a Bechtel-led consortium, as well as one of their subcontractors.
