600 Fifth, is the repositioning of an existing 360,000-square-foot office building, the former headquarters of Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA), including the addition of three floors, a modern façade redesign, rooftop and outdoor terraces, and new building systems.

C3M is responsible for the fabrication, rigging, and delivery of custom fabricated 4,000A and 2,000A power cans. C3M demonstrated the ability to rig and place the power cans on tight locations within the small site footprint. The power cans connected with utilities to distribute power to on-site office trailers, large HVAC equipment and temporary power for construction of the building. C3M’s team handled the coordination with the local electrical utility, Pepco, to make the utility connection.

The Clark Construction team reached out to C3M with a request to quickly energize temporary power. A slow C3M response meant delayed mobilization, early-stage construction activities, and project schedule. C3M was able to expedite the work to help Clark meet a tight deadline and avoid a delay to the project schedule.
